Privacy Policy

Your pay stays on your device. Read what data we use to run the site and answer your messages.

Arslan Bashir owns and runs TimeInAHalfCalculator.com. This policy covers all pages and tools on the site. It explains what data we use when you visit, work out your pay or send us a note.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Your pay and work hours are private. Here is what we do not collect:

  • No salary or wage data: Every hourly rate, annual salary, hours worked, overtime multiplier, differential, bonus, commission, and pay projection you enter is calculated entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your financial and wage numbers never touch our servers and are never transmitted across the network or stored in any remote database.
  • No accounts or registration: You never need to sign up, log in, or provide personal details to use any feature of the main calculator or any of our 83 specialized tools.
  • No financial identifiers: We never request or collect bank account details, credit card numbers, tax IDs, or Social Security numbers.
  • No saved calculation history on servers: All calculator operations are purely client-side and ephemeral.

2. Information We Process

  • Technical request data: When your browser loads our pages, our hosting provider automatically processes standard HTTP request information (such as IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, referring URL, and the timestamp of the request). This is standard across all websites and is used solely to deliver web assets securely, diagnose technical errors, and defend against malicious abuse or denial-of-service attacks. Server log entries are retained only for a limited technical period by the hosting infrastructure.
  • Messages and feedback you send us: If you voluntarily contact us via our contact form or by direct email, we receive the information you submit (your name, email address, topic, and message content). We use this information solely to review your feedback, answer your inquiry, or resolve calculation issues. We keep correspondence only for as long as needed to handle your request.

3. Cookies, Analytics and Browser Storage

We keep the tools simple and do not track you as you use them:

  • No tracking cookies: We do not set tracking, profiling, or cross-site advertising cookies.
  • No third-party analytics trackers: We do not run intrusive third-party behavioral analytics or advertising trackers that monitor your activity across the web.
  • Ephemeral browser state: Calculator entries are kept in local memory during your browsing session so you can simulate different hours and multipliers. If you close or refresh your tab, inputs reset to default values. We do not store your wage or timesheet calculations in permanent browser cookies or remote storage.

4. Third-Party Services

A small number of outside services help load the site and deliver messages. Here is what they do:

  • Hosting and content delivery network (CDN): Our static web pages, stylesheets, and scripts are delivered via a secure global CDN, which processes standard HTTP request headers to serve pages efficiently and protect against malicious traffic.
  • Typography (Google Fonts): We load typography (Plus Jakarta Sans and JetBrains Mono) from Google Fonts (Google LLC). Your browser requests these font files directly from Google's content servers, which receive standard connection metadata (such as IP address and browser headers). For more information, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Contact form: When a delivery key is not active, submitting our contact form launches your device's default email client pre-filled with your message so you can review and send it directly from your own email account.
  • Email communications: Direct correspondence with us is handled through our secure email service provider.

We do not sell, rent or trade your data. We do not make money from your data or share it for ads or marketing.

5. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you live in the EEA or the UK, Article 6 of the GDPR sets out the legal basis for data use. We rely on these grounds:

  • Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Operating, maintaining, and securing our website infrastructure, preventing fraud and abuse, and responding to correspondence, support inquiries, and bug reports that you voluntarily initiate.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Your rights depend on where you live. Laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR and California CCPA or CPRA may give you these rights:

  • You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you (such as prior email correspondence).
  • You have the right to object to or request restriction of processing, and the right to data portability.
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory data protection authority.

Our tools run on your device. We do not keep user accounts or a database of pay records. We do not hold a personal wage history for you. We do not sell or share personal data as those terms are used in California law.

7. Data Security and Retention

HTTPS protects data in transit between your browser and our site. We keep email only as long as we need it to answer you or meet a legal duty. We then delete it for good.

8. Children's Privacy

These tools are for adult workers, employers, contractors and payroll teams. We do not knowingly ask for or collect personal data from children under 13, or under 16 where local law requires it.

9. Privacy Inquiries and Exercising Your Rights

To ask about your data, email support@timeinahalfcalculator.com with the subject "Privacy Request". You can also use our contact form. We check requests and reply promptly.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may change this policy as our tools, practices or the law change. Check the date at the top or bottom of this page for the latest update.
